Do you take custom orders? TOP
Sometimes! :-) My favorite kind of custom order is one that gives me specific guidelines (size, shape, color, type of glass, design style) but also leaves me free to artistically create the beads. Some beadmakers like to make the same style of bead again and again, but I enjoy making each set unique. Many of my beads are made with hand-mixed canes or layered glasses and powders, that are not able to be duplicated exactly. So understand that if you like a particular set you see on this site or on Ebay, that I may or may not be able to repeat that set. It all depends on the glass used in the original beads.
If you are interested in a custom order, please email me. Do you teach lampworking or give private lessons? TOP In my previous career, I was a teacher--but now I am a working artist. I am happy to recommend a studio where a person can get good quality lampwork beadmaking instruction. If I can help you with knowledge or advice based on my experience, I'd be happy to do so--just email me. How long does it take to learn to make beads like these? TOP People often ask me this at shows. It makes me smile, because the answer always has to be adjusted to whatever year or day it is. I am self-taught, primarily--and continually learning through research and experimentation, and thus the bead styles and techniques are still evolving. One reason I became a teacher in my previous "life" was that I am passionate about life-long learning--and beadmaking is no exception. The beads I made today took me 12 years and 5 months to learn to make, then...:-) |
